SMS Appointment Reminder Consent

How We Collect Consent

At Luxe Bella, we collect explicit consent from customers before sending SMS appointment reminders. Consent is obtained through clear, opt-in mechanisms during the booking process.

1. During Account Registration

When customers create an account, they are presented with:

  • A phone number field (optional)
  • A clear consent checkbox: "I agree to receive SMS appointment reminders"
  • Explanation that SMS reminders help them remember their appointments

Note: Phone number is optional, and SMS consent is only collected if the customer explicitly opts in.

2. During Guest Booking

For customers booking without an account, consent is collected through:

  • A guest information form that includes phone number
  • A mandatory consent checkbox: "Send me SMS reminders for this appointment"
  • Clear messaging that SMS will be used for appointment confirmations and reminders

Guest bookings require explicit consent before we can send SMS reminders.

3. Consent Language

Standard Consent Text:

"I agree to receive text messages (SMS) from Luxe Bella. By checking this box, I consent to receive text messages (SMS) from Luxe Bella at the phone number I provide. I understand that I will receive:

  • Appointment confirmations
  • Appointment reminders (24 hours before my appointment)
  • Appointment cancellation or rescheduling notifications

Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP. For help, reply HELP."

4. Opt-Out Mechanism

Customers can opt out of SMS reminders at any time by:

  • Replying STOP to any SMS message
  • Updating their preferences in their account settings
  • Contacting us directly to remove their phone number

5. What We Send

We only send SMS messages for:

  • Appointment confirmations (immediately after booking)
  • Appointment reminders (24 hours before appointment)
  • Appointment cancellations or rescheduling notifications
  • OTP codes for phone login (if customer chooses phone authentication)

We do NOT send marketing messages, promotional content, or unsolicited messages.

6. Data Protection

We take data protection seriously:

  • Phone numbers are stored securely in our database
  • We only use phone numbers for appointment-related communications
  • We never share phone numbers with third parties (except our SMS provider, Twilio, for message delivery)
  • Customers can request deletion of their phone number at any time

Compliance

Our SMS consent collection process complies with:

  • TCPA (Telephone Consumer Protection Act) - Explicit opt-in consent required
  • CAN-SPAM Act - Clear opt-out mechanisms provided
